CONTINUING
PROFESSIONAL
DEVELOPMENT

Home

Continuing professional development is the process of enhancing knowledge, skills and experience related to a person’s profession. It is undertaken after or outside of formal training and it is the responsibility of the individual to pursue activities that may benefit their career or profession. CPD is important for anyone who works in rapidly moving fields such as science and technology but also for anyone who wants to maintain employability.

During my first term at Nottingham Trent University, I have been tasked with finding and completing 30 hours’ worth of CPD activities. These activities will be logged in a CPD plan along with relevant information such as dates and reflections of these activities. As well as this, I have written a short report for each activity, with imagery to better showcase how they have benefited me professionally.
